UPDATED #DROID #Incredible #Froyo Update NOT Coming Sept. 1st? #Android #Verizon #HTC
Looks like Sept. 1st was too good to be true! But hopefully it's not too far away! Droid Life's source had this update for them:
Our sources are now backing off of their original report. Delays people. No word on what those may be, but the 1st is likely out. And that was the quickest rumor in Droid history. We’re sorry that we’ve wasted you time. I hate Froyo.
Check out the whole article over at Droid Life
UPDATE: Looks like tomorrow is green for a go! Droid Life and Android Central both say Froyo should start rolling out tomorrow (August 27th) for the Droid Incredible!!! Check out the links below for more info:

#Android Battery Test Reveals #DroidX #FTW!!! #Motorola #Verizon
It's easy to see with this handy chart that the Droid X and Droid 2 muh-dalize the AMOLED & SAMOLED competition in the battery department! Does the DX's & D2's LCD screens save the day? Seems that way but do we lose any quality in display using it? I'm sure you would hear Motorola say quite the contrary! But i digress, if you'd like to hear more about the tests performed check out the article over at LAPTOP Mag

#NexusOne Even as a Developer Phone; A Little Too Popular #Android
It's out of stock for now...here's what the guys over at the Developers Blog had to say:
A couple of weeks ago, we arranged that registered developers could buy an unlocked Nexus One via their publisher page in Android Market. We think it’s a good development platform and a nice phone. Apparently, you agree. Somewhat too many of you, in fact; we blew through the (substantial) initial inventory in almost no time, and they’re back-ordered from HTC, who are doing a pretty good job of managing runaway success amid a worldwide AMOLED shortage. Everyone appreciates that it’s important to the platform to get phones in the hands of developers, so we’re working hard on re-stocking the shelves; stand by.
Hopefully it won't be too long before they can make the devs happy again!

#Motorola, “MOTOBLUR will not be our focus going forward”
After being asked about the future of the MotoBlur brand during Motorola's Q2 2010 earnings call, Dr. Sanjay K. Jha; Co-CEO of Motorola, was quoted saying:
“With MOTOBLUR, we have found that being able to convey the value proposition around MOTOBLUR is not an easy thing to do in a 30-second ad spot. We have decided that we will focus on the value proposition of products and not MOTOBLUR as a brand name in its own right. MOTOBLUR continues to be important and I think you will see increased functionality in MOTOBLUR. This notion of push-Internet is going to be very important to us, but as a brand name, which we make matter in front of consumers as a brand name, I don’t think that’s going to be our focus going forward, but we see the experiences that we deliver is being relevant and differentiating us.”
What do you guys think? Will Motorola start rolling out phones with stock Android? Or just keep it more in the background as others have done? I like the idea of each Maufacturer being able to have their own vision of an Android phone. I also like an idea I heard the other day of making the various Manufactuer UI skins available in the Market for those that like them can still download and enjoy that Maunfactures Android expierience. Let me know what you guys think in the comments!

#Google & #Verizon's Joint Policy Proposal for an Open Internet #Android
Google & Verizon have put up a joint proposal for an Open Internet with their main tqo goals being:
1. Users should choose what content, applications, or devices they use, since openness has been central to the explosive innovation that has made the Internet a transformative medium.
2. America must continue to encourage both investment and innovation to support the underlying broadband infrastructure; it is imperative for our global competitiveness.

#Verizon Wireless 2010/2011 roadmap! #Android
- In addition to the Motorola DROID and Motorola DROID X, Motorola will launch a new DROID handset, the Motorola DROID Pro. It is supposed to have a 1.3GHz CPU, 4″ screen and global roaming capabilities. Estimated launch of November 2010
- Motorola is working with Verizon on a “slab form-factor” device that sort of looks like an old Motorola Q but features a full touchscreen and global roaming. It will run Android 2.2. Maybe this will be a lower cost, MOTOBLUR handset?
- There are a lot more Android invasions happening before the end of the year, we’re told. This includes a global Android device from both Samsung and HTC.
- Samsung is working on a 7″ screen Android tablet with front-facing camera. Motorola is also working on a tablet as well, except it will sport a 10″ screen, either 1GHz or 1.3GHz CPU, front-facing camera, and Android 3.0. Don’t expect the Motorola so soon though, as we’re informed that while the launch was supposed to happen in December, Android 3.0 will probably hold up the release of that device and we should expect it around February 2011.
- Verizon Wireless is aiming and on track to have at least 75% of the country covered in LTE coverage by April 2012
- There will be a Novatel LTE MiFi device available in January or February that will apparently support up to 10 simultaneous Wi-Fi users.
- Lastly, we’re told LTE data pricing will stick at $59.99/month, though it’s unclear what the data allowance will be. (This is for data cards, not smartphones)
Who needs a crappy iPhone when we got all this down the road!
